I bought one of the original Kindle's three years ago. It has wireless (cellphone) download capability. Every morning the NY Times is there waiting for me. I tried reading the Times online on my netbook with their free reader application, but I like the Kindle better. Now that the Times is charging for full online access, I like the Kindle version even better.
I use the Kindle for almost all book reading. When I finish a book I browse the Amazon site and buy a new one. They used to cost $9.99 but most are now $12-14.
The new Kindle comes standard with wifi and for another $30 or so you get the cellphone download capability. Both would be very nice.
I haven't bought a print book in a couple of years. The only type of book I would now buy is one with lots of graphics. The Kindle doesn't do graphics very well.
