Time to change the sheets, she says.

The jib sheets on our Catalina 42 were hardly new when we bought the boat 11 years ago. They might be something like Samson Trophy since they are a bit soft and fuzzy or maybe that's because of the age. Since we are cruisers not racers (unless there is another boat in sight) super low stretch isn't important. I am thinking of Samson XLS or Samson Trophy. They are about the same price from Defender.

I don't want to repeat a mistake like when I went with New England Ropes' Sa-SetX for the halyards. The stuff was low stretch but so stiff it was like working with rebar. It wouldn't even stay in the self tailer on the winches. After 2 seasons I finally got happy watching it go away at the local swap meet. Recommendations for the genoa sheets anyone?
