I've found that even in a dead calm that anchorage is uncomfortable. Roll, roll, roll - but, I guess -
safe if you KNOW it's not gonna blow from the S or SW. Typical muddy Maine holding ground.
And, it's true, there are interesting points ashore. The 'natives' even seem especially friendly -
I guess they don't get too many visitors by boat.

For several years I used to anchor there, row into the public landing, and then walk to Hamiltion
Marine (not exactly a short walk, btw) as it was the only HM location East of Portland (and, of
course, I check out that store while in the Big City, or what passes for one in Maine). But,
now that there are convenient locations in Rockland and SW Harbor, it hasn't seemed to
be worth the bother. In any event, there is usually a LOT more going on ashore in Belfast.
