My fiance' and I have both given notice at our jobs and September 2nd is our last day at work. Although Dutchman was a very successful business when I arrived, my business specialty is increasing profitability which I was able to do, and my compensation package has enabled me to take an early retirement. We're headed north to upstate NY from Stamford at the end of September to get married and then south to the Annpolis boat shows. After that, at some point continue south somewhere, arriving someplace, where we will do something.
That's our plan and we're sticking to it.
Meanwhile, I have many boat projects to do on this old trawler. After going through a couple of previous owners, this rats nest of wires is a classic example of what I'm facing. Some project will be easy only because of the boat's age. All the old electronics are in the dumpster- radar, satellite navigator, VHF, etc. and will be replaced by all new Simrad stuff, but the project list is still huge and a bit daunting. But regardless, see you in Annapolis!
