It's not the wings on the Kiwi 35 that are the problem, it's the negative ultimate stability. Pyewacket was designed without the wings and had them added later, IIRC. The Kiwi 35 was designed with the wings from the inception. From what I understand, the boat was rolled and stayed upside down. A design 'feature' that should be banned for boats doing offshore sailing not just racing. If they used weight on the wings to measure ultimate stability, the designers should be sued into obscurity.
