Actually that's not what I meant but it does answer the question

For any given lens (whether zoom or any focal length) the dept-of-field that is in focus is greater when the aperture is reduced (e.g. f-11 or f-16). You can reduce (close) aperture by selecting faster (higher number) ISO film-speed and/or by using a slower shutter speed (which itself induces blur from camera or subject movement).
