OK, I really have little to complain about... this thing was on sale, and for the $120 I spent, I did not exactly expect "top shelf." However, the box says "marine." I want to know what exactly about this thing is "marine." Is it just the label on the box or what?
This is an AM-FM CD MP3 player.
The printed circuit board, which is obviously the heart of the thing, is exposed, uncoated and frankly I expect the corrosion to start the moment I take it out of the packing box. The "marine" label belongs nowhere near this thing. I have seen better protected car radios. The printed circuit board will start to delaminate the moment it is exposed to humid marine air.
What a freaking joke. Conformal coating I might understand... but this board is naked and exposed. Think I'll take before and after shots.
Wanna take bets on how long it lasts?
