I had my offices right on the field and it was a very exciting place to be. During the week leading up to the Weekend of the Airshow, Airplanes that were part of the Static show on the ramp began to arrive. Then the Blue Angel's arrived and performed a couple of practice shows. Some of the last airplanes to arrive, were two Harriers. When they arrived, during their hover to land......they peeled Asphalt off of one of the taxiways.

Even though this picture was taken a few months later, during the static show there was a C5A parked right out side.
