My views:

Martec isn't as good in reverse (see the Pracctical Sailor tests on these from some time ago).

A folding prop needs to be cleaned and lubed. Otherwise, you'll be sorry. They are a lot more sensitive than a MaxProp. If you leave the boat in the water, without sailing it, through the "growing seasons", you better clean any of them or else you'll be sorry.

P.S. -- we have a 2 bladed max-prop on our J/Boat; and, it's been great. We have had it lubed every two years (or, in some cases, sooner). In the sailing season, unless we're on an extended cruise and moving around every few days, we have the bottom cleaned every couple or three weeks. The prop gets "checked" for growth.
