He was barely out of high school (or maybe it was college) when he came to Rodger Martin's office to talk about a design for an Open 50. That would have been about 1989/90 when Rodge had two boats in the inaugural Vendee Globe. Brad wasn't ready then . . . but he sure persisted on the path Mike Plant had showed him.
