The overhang of the shrinkwrap beyond the rail is larger than it looks and the owners(friends) do almost all their own maintenance as well as covering the boat.
Shrinkwrap technique varies though doesn't it. The schooner behind, also hand brushed with oil enamel, is covered tightly(and the spars often channel water into the cocoon and then out the scuppers). I would think that is the least desirable for a painted boat.
