Taken about 10 years back. Typical start of a hazy hot August day on the water. We were ending our vacation and got underway at dawn, heading west out of Stonington CT. The forecast was for prevailing SW winds so we motored SW after Fishers toward Orient Point LI, so we would be close to the Long Island shore when the wind picked up, which it did around late morning. We sailed from the area near Orient/Mattituck to Stratford in one tack.
