We spent 48 hours hove to in a SE gale shortly after leaving New Zealand. During the 2nd night while we were snoozing the boat was rolled to something like 45' below horizontal. Probably caused by a rogue wave, as the boat had been riding fairly comfortably prior to that. We had a small storm jib set on the inner fore stay, and both running backs set up, so the mast was well supported. Broke several stanchions and antennas but nothing structural.
We had been playing cards the day before, and left the Jokers sitting on the table. They ended up wedged in the ceiling trim and remained there all the way back to Maine.
