Isn't a standard strainer engineered for that, Rich?

How is someone to check those differential pressures normally?
The screen on the through hull is (say) 18" below the water. (So the flow through it is induced by the pressure from it being submerged -- excluding the affects of motions through the water). Bernouli's law and all of that about pressure and flow :^)))
