soften the hose by immersion in boiling water and force it over the end. Or, get some 1-1/8 inch hose and use a liner to reduce it at the other end. The liner can be a short piece of 1 inch vinyl hose separated from a double wall hose.
Foley probably made that fitting to match the Hurth fitting which is oversize. I was able to get a piece on one inch steel reinforced hose to stretch over the Hurth fitting but it took a lot of effort.
Machine shops are not cheap. You may pay more to get it altered than it cost.
