I took a look at the various blogging options and decided to go with yacht blogs. I went with a free account and received the 2 year free upgrade that all new accounts apparently get. I liked the flexibility that they provide as compared with the other options, sail blogs, and blogger. However, blogger was appealing as well. In the end, it came down to wanting to blog in a place where people will come to read my blog. Yacht Blogs seems like a hub that will draw those readers. I imagine I'll end up getting more traffic as a result of being here, though time will tell. I've setup google analytics so I can track my readership.
Yacht blogs seems new and it appears to be a small network, but I received a warm welcome from several of the other bloggers there who seem to rave about the place and can't say enough good things about it. I also received a warm welcome and an offer to help get my blog started. So far so good.
I just wanted to post this to close out the thread - so it didn't seem like I ignored your comments. My blog, the McAllister Monologues - Musings of a Wannabe Sailor can be found at http://mcallister.yachtblogs.com/. I hope you stop by to check it out some time.
