could it be the gold plater types just don't know any better?

I recall approaching Catalina Isthmus and listening to the boat chatter to and from harbor patrol... Harbor patrol was getting pretty frustrated as there were no mooring spots available, and they had no doubt stated this over and over again... Then along comes some big power boat, declaring that they are "A BIG POWER BOAT" and that they want a mooring... yup, harbor patrol told them the same thing as all the rest of the boats... in no uncertain terms.

The guy kept insisting that he was A BIG POWER BOAT... didn't do him any good... no room at the inn.

Can't help but wonder if it is those kind of folks that just jump into a boat and "Radio Check 16... "
