Great shot! The first launch of the season is an interesting boat.
In Response To: Wednesday is PHOTO DAY! ()

And an interesting project(read about it on Rockport Marines website). The owner bought the boat, an Ohlsen 41, to convert to a daysailer. His needs; to take a large extended family daysailing off Cape Cod. This looks like a good choice to me. A big hull that can carry a large number of people out on waters that often see small craft advisories. No doubt some of the classic boat purists won't like this redesign. But what the hell, in it's day, this was a production boat designed for an era where many of these boats fueled a dream to race to Bermuda. Another dream takes over, daysailing with family.....

The drastic redesign removed what wasn't needed- the galley and nav station typical of the design. In it's place, the cabin was shortened(see it's old bulkhead line in the hullside below), and they added cockpit area. The cockpit is enormous now, the bridgedeck in the widest area of the hull. Enough so a whole family could sit forward of the helm, plenty of room to stretch out, no obstacles. Room below for some coolers and whatever will be needed for a large group out for the day. The veeberth will probably be elegant sail storage.

Still needs coamings and other details. It's soaking up a bit before going into the paint sheds to finish it. This will be a fun boat to see when it's complete.
