My trawler has been berthed at the Isle of Hope Marina in Savannah for a couple of months. It is directly on the ICW. We get waked regularly by passing sailboats. Yep, you read that right. The passing tugs and barges don't wake us, the passing cruise boats don't wake us, nor do 4 out of 5 passing powerboats. Just about every passing sailboat tosses us about though. I have to think that they don't believe their sailboats create wakes.
For sure, I'm not talking about the two foot wakes that a speeding sport fisherman makes, but sailboats passing at five or six knots, stern squatting and bow up in the air, throw enough to rock our boat and rattle the blinds here in our no wake zone. Since it's now time for the great migration north, and for what it's worth, I thought I'd post this here.
