A cruising friend of ours told us that a “boat break” is a good thing. We had to come ashore for a family emergency and were VERRY bummed.

What he related to us was that after years (about 4+ for us) cruising, while it was still great, it just wasn't as special as it started out being. You take the break and move ashore and it's kind of special. Then after some time you go back to the boat and it becomes special all over again! Then after months to a year or so, go back to the house and the house ashore becomes special again. And so on......

We made a couple of trips back to the Sea of Cortez and found he was very correct. Now we are prepping for our next special adventure.
