Actually, I think the 10 year old Yanmars are supposedly heavier duty than the current models.

Aren't the engines that we use, pretty unchanged? If you take basic "block" of a non-turbo diesel, and don't consider the digital read-outs (which seem to fail more often), the marine engines that most of us use are really unchanged?
