I forgot about the option of a simple tiller pilot hooked up to the Monitor. A friend offered me his used tiller pilot tonight for next to nothing. That would be an inexpensive option to get backup steering, with the further option not to need electricity should that be necessary.

I have the luxury of time, so may check out EBay and other places this year and see what I come up with for used alpha parts, and have this as the backup plan.
