I never liked the old match racing format. It's relatively easy to maintain a lead. Fleet racing is another matter, since the lead boat might be covering the second place boat, but lose to the rest of the fleet on the other side of the course. Racing in fast, unballasted catamarans gives us NASCAR "crash and burn" excitement as well.

I like this new format.
