I'm trying to figure this out... how can it be function and funny?

I went to Amazon and also Barnes and Nobel to see if they would show inside pages... as I wonder what about it makes it both funny and functional, neither site had anything to view. Do they have cartoons on each page or what? Or a funny saying or strange log entries?
