Had a buddy "lose" a hoby cat off his dock a few years back... he got it back free

() Told him to call the coast guard, every marina, yacht club and sailing supplies store in the area and to take ads out in the local papers.
Turns out some sailing instructors found it and towed it back to their club
Can't hurt to network the old fashion way on something like this IMHO
