The battery tray was included with the radio

Did you lose it? Unfortunately it looks like they have discontinued it. Did you check with SH to see if another model would fit?
Funny, our cheap SX270 came with a battery tray, but our top-of-the-line HX851S did not and we had to buy one for $25.
