at least I think that's the idea. The keel(or mostly), and bulb out of the water and in the air on the windward side(whoa?), thereby eliminating the drag(?), but allowing it to take advantage of the wind, stay flat, and go onto a plane(?)
I haven't really researched enough to be sure. I am looking forward to it's testing though. There hasn't been all that much revolutionary in sailing design for decades(speed wise in my opinion), but this could be different.
