There's a difference between sailing & cruising. I'll probably purchase another vessel for Southern California and may take trips to the Channel Islands and perhaps, just perhaps head south to Cabo and the Sea of Cortez (local stuff) but for me, leaving California and not coming back for a year or two is reached it's end.

Sailing vs. Distance Cruising, two different animals. 1,000 miles to Cabo isn't distance cruising. That's a piece of cake.
