Nyak was very exposed Monday , especially at night

Monday day and early evening the winds were from the NNE (probably gusting to 80) but then they clocked east and then SE and intensified. The weather advisory below says it all. It was soon after dark that I lost my trees. Some of the sustained gusts shook the house and were frighteningly loud. When this giant white pine came down, the earth shook my house. At one point the dog had to "go" and my son took him in the lee of our house wearing a helmet, out of concern for flying objects. (It was a quick trip).

My sister had a 4" diameter tree limb pierce the roof and attic floor at her house. Fortunately the rain wasn't heavy on the NE sie of the storm.
