New water tank - aluminum or plastic?

Surveyor looked at the boat this morning. My Tartan 30 needs a new water tank. The present water tank is molded into the hull liner, with one internal baffle and a plywood (formica covered) lid, sealed with gunk. The cradle pushed the hull in against the bottom of the water tank, which pushed into the baffle, which then hit the lid. Both the lid and the bottom of the tank are broken. Tank might be repairable, but removing it will allow inspection of the inside of the hull in that area. Besides, I've never been fond of fiberglass water tanks.
Rest of the survey was all little stuff - no bulkheads adrift or any horror stories like that. He sounded the entire hull from the outside with a plastic mallet and found no areas of concern. Just the cosmetic stuff in the previous photos.
