I had a favorable experience with Duraweld ...

... in Lake Worth, Florida (http://www.dura-weld.com). At the time I dealt with a fellow named Gareth, not sure if he is still w/them. I was very satisfied. This was 7 years ago, they fabricated two 52 gal water tanks and a 12 gal holding tank for my Tartan 40. PS > they will not make poly fuel tanks. The job was completely custom, I made template stations out of cardboard every foot or so, and then made tops, bottom & sides from cardboard to fit the templates, and taped them all together. I located the fill, vent, sender & access lid (Beckson 4" diameter deck plates), all on the top panel. The water tanks had three baffles and 4 compartments, with Beckson lid over each for cleaning access. I worked closely with Gareth on the design and construction, he "tacked" the pieces together before welding and I brought them to the boat to make sure they were a perfect fit, I maxed out the recess under my Settees with the tanks so as to get all the possible volume I could.

I've also talked to Triple M Plastics in Maine (http://www.triplemplastics.com), about a poly fuel tank, they were highly recommended. I have not yet gone ahead with this project, but when I do, they will probably build it for me, so I can't say one way or the other yet on these folks. I think Max on this Board may be having them build his new fuel tank, so maybe he can chime in here. I'm sure they would do water tanks.

Good luck, let me know if you have questions ...

Cheers, John
