Has anyone used a "bungee cord" for a dinghy anchor

line? Because of the dinghy thread below I thought I would just toss it out. I have some 3/8 in bungee line about 25 feet long that I use when going to a dock. It works really good if there is any tide and on rough or rusted docks. I just drop the anchor far enough from the dock to get a good stretch and tie off the bitter end to the dinghy. When I get to the dock I just step off and let the boat spring back to the length of the painter. It keeps the boat off the dock and away from the other boats that might be beat up with sharp corners. I've even used it to keep the dink off the beach behind the shore break a few times. I use SS clips on the cord ends so I can change back and forth to my regular anchor line. I've been doing it for years and thought others might find it an interesting idea.
