It's the guy next to you that you should worry about. We've got 50knots of SW breeze bringing in about 50 degree air, right now. We're on a good gravel base on the public landing but the upper few inches of ground thaws fast. Every stand I touched is loose right now. Not a problem with chains but you occasionally see a boat rocking back and forth between the loose stands.

And the ones with masts up get loose first. If stands are on soil, that's not good....
