... I took Jon's often-posted recommendation about these fenders a few years ago, drove down to the AERE facility in Pompano and picked up several 12x29 fenders. I asked for and bought seconds, I don't recall why they were rated as "seconds", could have been the color, but they were perfectly fine for half the price. I wish I could remember the fellow who helped me out, sorry. I wound up getting one of their 12V pumps, and Navy covers for the fenders. Like Jon, they have become one our favorite pieces of equipment on the boat, I think they're extremely well made, have not had any problems so far. We made a nice draw-string bag that the deflated fenders & covers, pump, etc. fits into nicely, very compact ... deflated and in the Bag they take up less room than one of the older ones inflated did, and a whole lot less bulky and easy to stow. We don't use them that much, getting fuel, checking-in, etc. They are out of the bag and fully inflated instantly, maybe couple minutes for the entire effort. We plug the pump into a 12 receptacle in the cockpit, very simple & easy. I love these fenders, thanks again Jon ! Cheers, John
