Gene, I'd change that oil at least once a year, regardless of hours. If you have a season, it would at the end.

You get an acid residue on the valves, lifters, cylinder walls, etc. Changing the oil is a good way to protect those parts.

Your engine is tough and will take a bunch of abuse (better than a more sensitive turbocharged, electronically controlled newer engine) -- but still, why push it?
