Essentially raising the shoreline, vertically with huge granite blocks, around the public landing over the years. These days we don't have to worry about the tide like they once did, you just go get on your boat. This isn't high-high tide in the photo below, I've seen the ramps perfectly level, and beyond.
This isn't a low-low tide, either, the ramps then go close to 45 degrees. Recycled window sash weights tied to the dinghys on long lines, run through blocks, the weights rise as the tide lowers, keeping the dinghys safely off the docks.
