Who counts the hours anyone spends on either of these activities?
In Response To: I was amazed to read that there are more fatal lites sailing ()
Are they adding up Wednesday night racing? If so, are they counting boat hours (say, 3 per evening) or people hours (21 if a crew of 7)?
And what about cruising people? Or Tom Young, or Jon Eisberg? Or anyone on this board for that matter.
If they have to count by deaths/million hours, I'd say both activities are pretty safe. You'd have to sail for 114 years non-stop to be 1 in a million hours . . . but did you die of sailing or old age?
