I like the Shurflo pumps, but most models seem to have a 1/2" NPT male thread that you are supposed to use a Shurflo's wing-nutted hose barb on.

The barbs seem a bit flimsy, and restrict flow. A 1/2" NPT Elbow screws on just fine.
Has anyone actually run with such a connection. Of course I would use a load of Teflon tape
