I'm all for the new design format idea to make it a more mainstream event. And sadly, this second crash will make it only more popular with the masses. It now feels a little like Nascar, eventually there's going to be another crash and pile up if they continue in this direction. Winning may mean survival to cross the finish line.

But it's still pretty exciting to watch these big machines go so fast with so little control. The people participating are in a high risk event for a sailing competition.

There must be fierce attention being paid right now as to how to get out from under such a large floating trap that these become when they flip.
