In 1993 I installed a dual system (110 AC compressor, 24V DC Engine compressor) with holding plates for a freezer and a refrigerator (Picture attached is the freezer, the refrigerator has another single larger holding plate.). The system worked until 2006 and at that time I started my “rebuild Aliza” project which I am about to finish now.
The Q is if anyone knows of any limits/problems with the holding plates (Made from SS and still look as new from the outside. I was told by a refrigeration professional that the holding plate liquid is corrosive and that if I change the external compressor/condenser parts and keep the holding plates, due to their age (20 years) I might have a catastrophic failure soon due to leakage inside the plates. He said that this cannot be tested. I am looking for people who might have experience with holding plates failures on one side, or people who might have more than 20 years on their system without a problem of internal leaks inside the holding plates.
Your response is appreciated!
