For comfort, I agree with Larry. Especially if you're going to the bare hull.

I hired one bottom stripped. Took all day, two guys, cost a fortune. If you're doing it yourself, it's messy, back breaking work just as is sanding but creates messy, not dusty. A lot depends on your yard standards for sanding dust control if you're doing it in a yard. If it's your backyard, decide how much crap you want to spread around your place.
