is adapting to the changes in the market. Fewer new boats have led them to bring in more charter companies and more recently a brokerage area. This adds value for many attendees who aren't and may never be in the market for a new boat. Boat show has always drawn tourists and locals alike who are there for the festival atmosphere. That's fine. Their dollars help keep the Boat Show going and the City (until now) supportive.
The City Dock master plan proposed by the City ignores the logistics of the Boat Show and the mayor has refused to consider that he and his team may have neglected important factors. According to Mr. Hamilton's report Mr. Cohen has also been consistently rude which is not acceptable in a public servant.
There is nothing to say the Midatlantic Boat Shows must be in Annapolis. The arrogance of Annapolis City government may lead to the premier shows moving to Baltimore (better food, better transportation) or Norfolk (better food, better transportation, and interesting potential synergies with other activities like the Caribbean 1500, the Salty Dawg Rally, and the new Snowbird Rendezvous).
If Annapolis stays on the track it is on they will have to take down the "America's Sailing Capitol" signs and defer that title to Newport.
