() Pre winter lay up. I bought the 5w-40 by mistake but it may be as good or better than the 15w-40 spec'd. That's why I posted the question.
I change the oil annually around this time so its bathed in fresh oil during lay up. I usually use fossil Rotella oil but the full synthetic was almost the same price, and it should be better.
