Cruising Sailors Forum Archive

Well, the're about 15 years old. They

have cruised from San Francisco to southern Mexico. They've been rained on, leaked on and liquor spilled on. They were lived aboard on for 14 years and they are leather. Everyone says leather is a poor choice because they mildew and are hot to sit on. I take exception with that. They wear like steel and I've never had a bit of mildew and don't think leather is hot to sit on, even in Mexico. What can I say. We always use leather, even in the Pilot House which is right by the doors. In the last 19 years I've changed the Pilot House cushions 3 times but only because it doubles as my workshop and I keep spilling stuff on them. It drives my wife nuts.
