Nice … Fond memories of Edwin's ...
In Response To: In the Bahamas - Part 4 ()

Keith, Jan and crew. We moored our boat there for several years while we came & went. Jay Manni, Jan's husband, runs a great little sail shop across the harbor if you ever need canvas work. Keith would let me use the Shop, all the tools & machines, and I'd be in there for days on end doing boat projects, man I miss those days. Really great. Make sure you find the Lighthouse Keeper at Hopetown, and go with him when he lights the lantern at night, that's a real treat. I remember in 2004 after the Hurricanes, Hopetown was battered … boats stuck up in trees along the waterfront, every dock was either gone or a twisted pile of wood, the swimming pool at the HHH was filled with sand, no palms or coconuts on any palm tree, all the houses along the waterfront looked like they had been sand-blasted, no paint. I can't find my picture of the one ocean-front house that had about foot of sand stacked up inside of the double pane windows between the panes, all the windows out to the ocean looked like ant-farms. You're making me jealous, it was -12 here the last 2 mornings, thanks to you I'll be making my reservations and flights today for a spring visit ! Great stories, thanks Chris … cheers, John
