plenty of jobs that have equal risk. Steel workers working high in the air comes to mind. You never see one without a ratchet harness now days. You might see one but if his boss saw him, most likely he would get a reprimand at the very least. Fishing boats could be rigged for such harnesses with very little effort. They give a person plenty of room to move about. My guys used full body harness with ratchet lanyards and have been for 10 or 12 years. They bitched at first but soon got over it and started depending on them. I see no reason why a fisherman couldn't do the same thing on a boat as my guys did on the top of a 500Kv transformer or 125 foot tall man lift. It's just a mind set and that's all it is. Once again, IMHO.
