Thursday is poetry day?!

I thought I would try this out here:

Penobscot

Her beauty beckons us to come and sail
She has scattered granite jewels about
Calming the waters and giving safe harbor
Her Sentinels, ghosts of old merchant kings
Watch over these jewels
You see them from time to time
Majestically gliding behind an island
Then you know her watch is kept

The gist of this came to me on the way down to Isle au Haut in September.
