A boatyard worker started to lift my boat using wrong direction of pull against the mid-strap eyes, so the boat would likely have ripped out the stitching if I hadn't called attention to it.

I've also seen boats blocked wrong and lifted wrong, or yard workers pounding on prop hubs with sledges, or using vise grips on polished stainless rigging fittings.
