Abandoned by Nobeltec

We have been using Nobeltec's VNS for about 10 years, updating as appropriate
We have Nobeltec Radar PC, the older version that uses RS422 communication (not the more recent Ethernet)
We like it, including the Radar and AIS integration with the charts

Nobeltec has announced that they will not sell charts for VNS after end of this month.
I cannot find any way to use the radar without VNS, so we have to either get a new radar, or buy charts right now for all the places we may go to in the next few years. This will require about $2000, and it is possible that we will not go to all the places before we replace the radar and buy another navigation program.
We move around a lot, so have been renting Nobeltec charts for the past few years. Worked well for us, but Nobeltec's have abandoned their rental program.
I have spoken with Nobeltec, and their response is "Too bad. Your system is obsolete" They tried to sell me a new system, but you can be sure that whatever we buy in future, it will not be from Nobeltec.

It is not practical for us to buy new radar this year, since Milvina is in Norway, where prices are sky high, and availability of support for the hardware and software I would want is poor. Also we want to go to Svalbard, and will not have time to install new stuff.
Also, I get the impression that the broadband radar is not yet ready for PCs yet, so wish to wait a couple of years.

Has anyone found a way around this issue of Nobeltec abandoning chart sales for VNS?
There are cracking codes on the web which claim to open up all the worldwide charts for VNS that we already have on DVD. However, I dislike this approach, and have always paid our way on charts.
Any old Nobeltec charts to sell for Europe and crossing back to Caribbean ple email me ( Neil AT McCubbin.ca )
