a HAM or SSB aboard?

I ask as you are much more likely to get info on all things important ahead of you by checking into the nets along the way.The people in front of you have the BEST info that will be important to you. At least that is how we saw it as we cruised down the wast coast and into Mexico.

Having cruised in Mexico for a few years, then returning to the US and watching the "news" I find that a lot of info in the US is blown way up for the sake of attracting watchers.

From our personal experience, it's more dangerous in the US than "out there"!! I would suggest you don't get to worked up about the pirates until you are closing in on the areas that worry you.
